How to get your business found on Google

Getting found on Google isn't magic and it isn't only for big companies. Most of it is common sense done properly. Here are the basics any business can act on — no jargon.

Start with a real website

Google can only rank a page that exists. A social profile barely counts. A proper website — even a small one — gives Google something to show, with your name, what you do, and where you are. That alone puts you ahead of businesses hiding on Instagram only.

Fast and mobile, or nothing

Google favours sites that load quickly and work on phones, because that's where most searches happen. A slow, clunky site gets pushed down no matter how good your business is. Speed and a clean mobile layout are the foundation everything else sits on.

Claim your Google Business Profile

This is the free listing that shows your business on Maps and in the local results, with photos, hours and reviews. It's one of the highest-impact things a local business can do, and it takes an afternoon:

Say what you do, in your words

Use the actual words people search — "barber in Waterford", "wedding photographer Cork", "late bar Dublin". Put them naturally in your page titles and text. You don't need to trick Google; you need to clearly say what you offer and where.

Don't forget AI search

People increasingly ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI for recommendations. The same clean, well-structured site that ranks on Google is what these tools read and quote — so building it properly gets you found in both places. Every Ncell build is made this way from the start.
